DMX SPOT

To switch different light sources on and off at the same time, you need a control system. DYDELL offers smart LED-light sources which can be controlled with several control systems, such as Casambi, Loxone and DMX. In this blog, you will read more about DMX in combination with an LED spotlight.

HOW DOES A DMX LED-SPOT WORK?

DMX is a control system mainly used for coloured light. DMX stands for Digital Multiplex. This is an operating system which creates pre-sets and ‘special effects’. LED spots from DYDELL consist of ‘dual white’ or RGBW light, meaning they can emit red, yellow, blue, and white light. These colours of light can also be mixed into other colours.

With DMX, each colour of the light source gets a separate channel. By these channels the light such as the DMX spot, can then be changed, by sliding the DMX controller. So, by doing this, you can choose to turn on both the colour such as blue and red, giving you a purple light. There are different DMX controllers, with many and a few sliders. Depending on the room to be lit, or needs to be controlled with DMX, there are several DMX controllers available that fit into your lighting needs.

So, DMX makes it possible to create different effects. You can use DMX to dim lights, flashlights and change the colour. In addition, colours mixed by DMX can be stored at the controller, so that the next time you only must press one button for this stored colour or for a stored special effect.

DMX LED SPOT FROM DYDELL

All DMX lights from DYDELL can be controlled with DMX systems for theatres or in-home automation systems. This is because DMX is one of the few lighting protocols that can also control coloured light, it is often used in theatres, clubs, and smart residences. This is because DYDELL’s DMX lighting can be provided with coloured (RGBW) light in addition to white light. That is why DYDELL supports this DMX system. Theatres, clubs, and pop stages who want to control the light in a split second, should choose a wired system such as DMX, because there will be no delay of a wireless network.

DYDELL’s DMX lighting such as the powerful RGBW Led sphere, the RGB LED line and the Glareless pin spotlight can be connected to the theatre DMX system or smart home system such as KNX with a DMX cable. Finally, to ensure that the lighting in your home, theatre or hospitality business can be controlled wirelessly. To set the channels you need a RDM system. RDM stands for Remote Device Management. With RDM, you can tell the DMX lights themselves which DMX channels they should be.

In a theatre, many channels are probably already in use and the next available channel should be assigned. With RDM, you control this yourself. RDM thus talk back to the DMX system which channel it is. Then the mixer can tell the trimless LED spotlights, for example, to get another channel. The DMX controllers send out a signal to the DMX, which consists of a start code followed by up to 512 channels. Each dimmer and light effect listens to a particular channel or channels. Which channel this should be, can easily be set with RDM.

DMX LED SPOT THEATRE

Because DMX is mainly combined with colourful LED spots, DYDELL’s DMX LED spotlight is ideal for a theatre. Besides DMX is an ideal protocol for theatre, DYDELL’s LED spot is also minimalistic because the light comes through an opening of 10mm and allows you to incorporate them nicely into the ceiling. Another advantage of this pin spot that this powerful DMX spotlight does not blind visitors when they investigate the foyer or theatre.

The DMX LED spotlight of DYDELL gives you the possibility to create many different atmospheres on an easier way, allowing multifunctional use of spaces such as foyers, restaurants but also residential houses. As mentioned, different light modes can be stored and so the mood of an area can be switched quickly and easily.

DYDELL’s minimalistic spotlights can be painted into a colour that matches with the colour of the ceiling. Due to that you will only see a pin-opening of 10mm.
